The retreat allowed me to connect with myself, giving me permission to stop and think about what I’m experiencing right now with the pandemic and create art to focus on my emotions. The most important part was being surrounded for two days with beautiful souls that understood, encouraged, supported and loved me for me!! This kind of magic is unique to the retreat and I felt it all the way to my home."

Ready for some magic?

Life is really flipping difficult sometimes. I'm here to help you find your hope again.

Allyson Bright laughing

I'm Allyson Bright, and joy is my superpower.

Life has not been awesome to me. When I was 31, I was widowed unexpectedly when my husband died by suicide. And when I was 37 - just as life started to really feel okay again - I was blindsided with a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis.

I live with chronic pain every day. I walk with a cane whenever I leave the house. I have active PTSD from my husband's death.

And despite this, anyone who knows me will tell you I'm the happiest person they know. In fact, right now? I'm experiencing more joy in my daily life than ever - even as my body fights me daily.

My secret formula is a combination of mindfulness, art, energy healing, and connection that allows me to show up for myself and my soul in ways that I never thought possible.

And I can't wait to share it with you.

I’m “arting” more than ever - pretty much daily. I’m tapping into more of what I need to be healthier emotionally. I dismissed that a lot before I started the Determined to Shine retreats. I think we all just need to be told we are enough. I think we gain a little more confidence in ourselves with each retreat we attend. I know I do!

From the Determined to Shine Community

“Determined to Shine has opened a whole new world to me. Tragedy and illness prevented me from doing the things I loved. I am slowly putting my life in order again and joining this group has allowed me to be creative again without judgement."

Hilde - Sydney, Australia

“With Allyson’s help, guidance, and support, I have finally started to love and accept who I am again. Allyson has been providing me with techniques and practices that are helping me gain control and finally get back into the driver’s seat of my life instead of just being a passenger and letting things happen to me.”

Angela - Phoenix, Arizona

“The online format of this Determined to Shine retreat was just as life changing for me as the in-person events. Having all my art supplies at my fingertips with no travel time was so wonderful. I felt just as connected, even without the hugs which I love. Thanks for making this available during these uncertain times.”
